Main Street Dances

Every Monday Evening - Mid July through Mid August

Every Monday evening from mid July through mid August, Downtown Hendersonville's Main Street comes alive with the sounds of fiddles and banjos playing mountain heritage music and people square dancing or clogging.  The Main Street Dances are a favorite of locals and visitors come to the event to enjoy the music and participate in the traditional Appalachian square dancing.

Square dancing and clogging to old time music has been a tradition in Downtown Hendersonville for more than 90 years.   The Hendersonville Street Dances began in 1918, at the end of World War I when the city welcomed our soldiers home from the War by celebrating in the streets.  Learn More
